Frequently Asked Questions

Welcome to our FAQ page! We know planning a wedding comes with a lot of questions, and we’re here to help! Below you’ll find answers to some of the most common inquiries from our amazing clients. If you don’t see your question listed, feel free to reach out — we’re more than happy to chat!

How early should I start planning my wedding?

We recommend starting the planning process 12-18 months prior to your wedding day. This timeframe allows you to secure your dream venue, carefully select the best vendors, and thoughtfully design each aspect of your wedding. The earlier you begin, the less stress you’ll feel as the big day approaches.

Do you provide day-of coordination, or do I need a separate planner?

We do offer day-of coordination services, which ensures your day runs smoothly from start to finish. However, for couples seeking a more hands-on approach leading up to the wedding, we suggest hiring a full-service wedding planner who can assist with the entire process, from concept to execution. Either way, we’re here to support you!

What’s the best way to stick to a budget?

We advise setting a realistic budget early on and prioritizing what matters most to you—whether that’s a stunning venue, premium photography, or a band that gets everyone dancing. Tracking your expenses along the way and being flexible with less critical items will help you stay within your desired range. We’re happy to help you make smart choices that balance your vision with your budget.

Can you help me find vendors for my wedding?

Absolutely! We work with an extensive network of trusted vendors, from florists to DJs to hair and makeup artists. Based on your style, budget, and needs, we can connect you with the best professionals who will bring your vision to life. We’re here to make the process seamless and stress-free.

Do you have recommendations for venues, or do I need to find one first?

We have a curated list of top venues we work with regularly, but if you already have a location in mind, we can certainly help with the planning process for your specific venue. Our goal is to make sure everything is perfectly suited to your tastes, so we’re flexible to whatever fits your dream wedding.

What’s the typical timeline for a wedding day?

A typical wedding day timeline ranges from 8-12 hours, depending on your ceremony and reception plans. We recommend starting with hair and makeup in the morning, followed by pre-ceremony photos, the ceremony itself, cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing. We work closely with you to create a custom timeline that fits your unique day and ensures everything flows beautifully.

How do I handle guest list management?

Managing a guest list is crucial for keeping your event organized. Start by creating a digital list with names, addresses, and RSVPs. Many couples use online platforms to track responses and meal preferences. We can also help with advice on seating arrangements and vendor coordination for your guests’ needs.

How do I prioritize my wedding planning tasks?

We always recommend starting with the most important elements—venue, photographer, and caterer—then working your way through the rest. We provide you with a detailed checklist and timeline so you can focus on one task at a time, and we’ll guide you every step of the way.

Can you assist with theme and decor ideas?

Yes, of course! From color palettes to floral designs, we work with you to craft a wedding theme that reflects your personality and style. We’ll help you select the perfect decor to complement the venue and create a cohesive look that tells your story beautifully.

What should I do if something unexpected happens on the wedding day?

Don’t worry—we’ve got you covered. We have contingency plans for all types of situations, from weather challenges to vendor delays. Our team is trained to handle the unexpected with grace and efficiency, so you can relax and enjoy the day without concern.

How long after the wedding will I receive my photos?

Typically, you can expect to receive your fully edited wedding photos within 6-8 weeks after the big day. This time frame ensures that we meticulously go through each image to enhance color, lighting, and overall quality. We deliver your photos via a private, online gallery where you can view, download, print and share your images with ease.

Do you offer engagement sessions, and is that included in the wedding package?

Yes, we absolutely offer engagement sessions! Engagement sessions are a wonderful way for us to get to know each other better and for you to feel more comfortable in front of the camera before the wedding. Many of our wedding packages include an engagement session, but if it’s not part of your selected package, it can easily be added on for a small additional fee. It’s a great opportunity to capture more intimate moments and beautiful photos ahead of your wedding day!

How many hours of coverage do we need?

Most couples opt for 8-10 hours of coverage, which typically allows us to capture everything from pre-ceremony preparations to the last dance. We suggest having enough time to document all the key moments of the day, including the ceremony, family portraits, reception, and any special events like speeches or first dances. However, the exact amount of coverage depends on your unique timeline and how long you’d like us to stay. We can tailor the coverage to suit your needs!

Do you provide a second shooter?

Yes, we highly recommend adding a second shooter to your package. A second photographer is invaluable for capturing additional angles, candid moments, and important details that may otherwise be missed. A second shooter ensures we cover all aspects of your day without missing a beat, especially for larger weddings with multiple locations or guests. Some of our packages offer a second photographer already included, but if it’s not part of your selected package, it can easily be added on for a small additional fee.

Can we request specific shots or poses?

Absolutely! We love working with our couples to make sure we capture the moments that matter most to them. Before the wedding, we’ll discuss any specific shots, poses, or family portraits you’d like us to focus on. Whether it’s a traditional family portrait or a creative shot you’ve seen in a magazine, we’re happy to bring your vision to life while still maintaining the natural flow of your day.

Do you offer albums or prints?

Yes, we offer custom wedding albums and prints to help preserve the memories of your special day. Our albums are designed with your photos in mind, showcasing your day’s story in a beautiful, high-quality format. We also offer a variety of print options, including canvas prints, framed photos, and other keepsakes. We can help you select the perfect items to complement your home and your wedding memories.

What happens if something goes wrong with my photos (i.e., camera failure)?

While it’s extremely rare, we are fully prepared for any situation that might arise. We carry backup gear (cameras, lenses, memory cards, etc.) and take multiple precautions to ensure that your photos are safe and sound. In the unlikely event of a technical failure, we have a comprehensive backup plan in place to retrieve and recover your photos so that nothing is lost. Your memories are our priority!

Do you edit all the photos?

Yes, every single image we deliver is professionally edited. Our editing process involves color correction, exposure adjustments, and retouching to ensure that the photos look polished and cohesive. We focus on enhancing the beauty of each image while maintaining a natural, authentic look. We aim to bring out the emotion and atmosphere of your day through our edits.

Can you photograph in low light or difficult lighting conditions?

Absolutely! We are highly skilled at shooting in low-light or difficult lighting conditions. Whether it’s a candlelit ceremony or an indoor reception, we have the right equipment and techniques to capture stunning images in any lighting scenario. We make adjustments on the fly to ensure the lighting is perfect, and no moment is missed, regardless of the environment.

How do we receive our images (online gallery, USB, etc.)?

We deliver your photos via a private, online gallery. This gallery is easy to access from any device, and it allows you to view, download, and share your images with family and friends. You can also order high-quality prints and products directly from the gallery. If you’d prefer, we can provide a USB drive with your images upon request, although the online gallery is typically the most convenient and efficient option.

How long will my wedding video be?

The length of your video depends on the type of package you choose. For the packages that offer a smaller amount of video coverage time, it’s typically around 4-6 minutes. The packages that offer 7 hours or more of video coverage will usually be 7-10 minutes. Both films will capture the best parts of all the main events, including ceremony, speeches, and other key moments. We offer our couples the option to purchase all of the RAW footage from their entire day if they would like to have the whole ceremony and all of the speeches in their possession.

Can we request specific moments to be captured on video?

Absolutely! We want to make sure we capture every moment that’s important to you. Before your wedding, we’ll have a detailed consultation to discuss any specific moments, such as special dances, candid interactions, or even specific angles or shots you’d like. We’ll also encourage you to share a shot list if there are any specific details or moments you absolutely want captured so that we can make sure everything runs smoothly.

Do you have drone footage or aerial shots?

Yes, we do offer drone footage as an add-on option for your wedding video! Drone shots are a fantastic way to capture stunning aerial views of your ceremony, venue, or group photos, adding a cinematic and grand touch to your wedding film. Drone footage is particularly beautiful for outdoor weddings or locations with breathtaking landscapes. Just be sure to check with us if your venue permits drone usage, as some places have specific guidelines or restrictions.

Can we include personal vows or messages in the video?

Definitely! We love capturing personal vows or heartfelt messages, as they add an incredibly emotional and personal touch to your wedding film. If you choose to write personal vows, we will ensure they are featured prominently in your video. Additionally, if you’d like to include personal messages from guests or family members, we can capture and weave those into your film, creating a deeply meaningful and customized wedding video.

How soon after the wedding will we receive our video?

The timeline for delivering your wedding video depends on the complexity of the edit and our current workload, but generally, you can expect to receive your wedding film 2-3 months after the wedding. We take great care to ensure every moment is perfectly edited, so your patience is greatly appreciated as we work to create something truly special.

How do you handle song requests?

We love song requests! We collaborate with you to create a playlist that reflects your taste, and guests are encouraged to request songs during the reception. Our DJs ensure that the music fits the mood, keeping the energy high and the dance floor packed.

Will you create a timeline for the music at the reception?

Yes! We work closely with you to develop a detailed timeline that includes your preferred songs for key moments like your first dance, cake cutting, and bouquet toss. Our goal is to ensure the music flows seamlessly throughout the evening.

Do you provide sound equipment for both the ceremony and reception?

Yes, we provide state-of-the-art sound equipment for both the ceremony and reception, ensuring crystal-clear audio for your vows, speeches, and dancing. We’ll coordinate with your venue to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Do you provide props for the photo booth?

Yes, we provide a wide range of fun and high-quality props to make your photo booth experience even more memorable! From funny hats, oversized glasses, and feather boas to custom props tailored to your wedding theme, we ensure that there’s something for every guest to enjoy. If you have any specific prop ideas in mind, feel free to let us know, and we can try to accommodate your requests to make the experience even more personalized.

How long can we rent the photo booth for during the reception?

You can rent the photo booth for as long as you’d like, with rental periods typically ranging from 2 to 4 hours. Most couples opt for a 3-hour rental, which allows plenty of time for guests to have fun and take lots of photos during the reception. If you’d like to extend the rental time, just let us know in advance, and we can adjust it to fit your schedule.

Can we customize the photo booth prints with our wedding details?

Absolutely! We offer full customization of your photo booth prints. You can add your names, wedding date, a special message, or even a custom design that matches your wedding theme or colors. Whether you want a simple, elegant design or something fun and quirky, we can create a print template that reflects your unique style. Customization is included in the photo booth package, so you can be sure that every print is a keepsake that your guests will love.

Do you offer a digital version of the photos taken in the photo booth?

Yes! After the event, we provide you with a digital gallery of all the photo booth pictures taken during your wedding. Your guests will also be able to download their photos directly from the gallery, so they can share their fun moments on social media or keep them as a memento. Additionally, we can offer a digital album with all the prints if you’d like to preserve the memories in an easily accessible format.

What’s the best way to encourage guests to use the photo booth?

To get the most out of your photo booth experience, we recommend making it a fun, engaging part of your wedding festivities! Here are a few tips:

  • Create signage that lets guests know where the photo booth is and encourages them to take pictures. You can also add a fun message like “Strike a Pose!”
  • Announce it during your reception! A quick mention by your DJ or MC can encourage guests to visit.
  • Place a guest book near the booth so guests can leave a photo strip and a message for the couple.
  • Set up a fun, themed backdrop to make the photo booth stand out and attract guests who want to take creative photos.

How do I know which wedding dress style is best for my body type?

Choosing the right wedding dress depends on highlighting your best features and making you feel comfortable and confident. Here’s a general guideline for body types:

  • Hourglass: A fitted gown that accentuates your curves, like a mermaid or sheath style, works well.
  • Pear-shaped: A ball gown or A-line dress can balance proportions by drawing attention to your upper body.
  • Apple-shaped: Empire waist or A-line dresses help define the waist while offering comfort.
  • Rectangular: A sheath dress with a fitted waist or a dress with dramatic details (like ruffles or lace) can create the illusion of curves. Ultimately, it’s about feeling your best in what you choose! I recommend trying on various styles to see what you feel most comfortable in. Personal preferences matter most, so trust your instincts and don’t be afraid to experiment!

What’s the best way to find the perfect bridesmaid dresses?

The perfect bridesmaid dresses should reflect the overall theme and style of your wedding while making your bridesmaids feel fabulous. Here are some tips:

  • Consider their body types: Choose a style that is flattering for different shapes and sizes. You can opt for dresses in a single color but in different styles to suit each individual’s taste.
  • Choose a color palette: Pick a color that works with your wedding’s color scheme and complements your bridesmaids’ complexions.
  • Set a budget: Be mindful of your bridesmaids’ budgets. There are beautiful dresses at every price point, so it’s important to be considerate while selecting.
  • Think about comfort: Make sure the fabric and fit are comfortable for all the activities of the day, from walking down the aisle to dancing at the reception.

We’d recommend a fitting session where your bridesmaids can try on different options to help narrow down the perfect look.

Do you help with the bridal party’s attire and accessories?

Yes, absolutely! We offer styling services for the entire bridal party, including choosing dresses, coordinating accessories, and helping with shoes, jewelry, and hairpieces. If your bridal party needs help picking out coordinating accessories or adding the finishing touches to their outfits, We can guide you in selecting pieces that complement both the overall theme and individual styles. We’ll make sure everyone feels coordinated and confident!

Should I bring in inspiration photos for my look?

Definitely! Inspiration photos are a wonderful way to communicate your vision. They help me understand your preferences, style, and what you’re envisioning for your big day. Bring any pictures that show you the overall feel you want for your wedding — whether it’s a dress style, specific accessories, or hair and makeup ideas. We can use these photos as a starting point to create your perfect bridal look while ensuring it’s tailored to your personality and body type.

What should I do if my dress doesn’t fit perfectly before the wedding?

If your dress doesn’t fit perfectly, don’t worry — that’s completely normal! Most dresses will need some adjustments closer to the wedding day. We recommend scheduling fittings with a skilled seamstress as soon as possible. They can take in or let out the dress, adjust the hem, or make any necessary alterations to ensure it fits you like a glove. Be sure to have at least two fittings — one a few months before the wedding to address the major adjustments, and one about a week before the big day for final tweaks. It’s always a good idea to schedule your alterations early, so you have time to make any needed changes.

Should I schedule a trial for my hair and makeup?

Yes! A trial for hair and makeup is highly recommended to ensure you’re completely happy with your look before the big day. It gives you the chance to:

  • Test different styles: You’ll get to experiment with different looks to find the one that feels perfect for you.
  • Ensure longevity: You’ll see how your hair and makeup hold up over several hours, ensuring they last all day without needing touch-ups.
  • Perfect any details: You can make adjustments to the color, texture, or style before your wedding day, ensuring everything is exactly as you envisioned.

A trial also helps build trust and confidence in your stylist, making the wedding day experience much smoother and stress-free.

How long will my hair and makeup take on the wedding day?

On your wedding day, hair and makeup typically take 1.5 to 2 hours per person, depending on the complexity of the look. Here’s how we break it down:

  • Bridal hair and makeup: Around 2 hours, allowing for styling, adjustments, and a final look that is flawless.
  • Bridal party: For bridesmaids and others in the bridal party, we typically allow about 45 minutes to 1 hour per person.

We recommend planning for plenty of time to ensure there’s no rush, so we suggest starting early, especially if you have a larger bridal party or a more intricate style.

Can I change my hair or makeup after the trial?

Absolutely! The trial is designed to allow you to refine and perfect your look. If you decide to make any changes after your trial, such as:

  • Changing the style: Perhaps you want to switch from an updo to loose waves, or change the type of makeup (e.g., softer or more dramatic).
  • Adjusting color: If you feel the makeup shades aren’t quite right or the hair color needs tweaking, that’s absolutely fine.

We’ll work with you to make adjustments, ensuring your final wedding-day look is perfect for you. Feel free to share any feedback after your trial, and we’ll incorporate those changes to create your dream look.

What do I need to bring to the trial?

To make the most of your trial, here’s what we recommend you bring:

  • Inspiration photos: Bring pictures of hair and makeup looks you love, as well as anything you’d like to avoid. This gives your stylist a clear vision of your style.
  • Hair accessories: If you plan to wear a veil, headpiece, or other accessories, bring those to ensure they’re integrated into your style.
  • Makeup products: If you wear any specific products that you love or are sensitive to, bring them along to your trial so we can incorporate them.
  • Your wedding attire: If possible, wear a top similar to your wedding dress or bring it with you so we can envision the complete look together.

The more details you can provide, the better we can customize your look to suit your personal style and the overall vibe of your wedding.

Do you provide touch-ups throughout the wedding day?

Yes, we offer touch-up services throughout the wedding day, though this may vary depending on your package and needs. Here’s how we can help:

  • Touch-up kits: We can provide a touch-up kit with essential products like lipstick, powder, and mascara to keep you fresh throughout the day.
  • Additional services: For larger weddings, we offer a day-of touch-up package, where we can stay on-site during key moments such as the ceremony, portraits, and reception to ensure you look flawless all day.

Our goal is to make sure you feel confident and look perfect every moment of your wedding day, so we’re happy to stay flexible and support you with touch-ups as needed.

How do we decide on the flowers for our wedding?

Choosing the right flowers for your wedding involves considering several factors:

  • Personal Style: Think about the overall aesthetic of your wedding. Are you envisioning something classic, romantic, bohemian, or modern? Your floral selections should complement your theme and color palette.
  • Season: Flowers are often more affordable and vibrant when they’re in season, so selecting flowers that are naturally available at your wedding’s time of year can make a big difference. We can help you choose flowers that match the season while aligning with your style.
  • Budget: Some flowers are more expensive than others, so it’s important to balance your floral dreams with your budget. We can provide suggestions that achieve the look you want without compromising quality.
  • Venue and Setting: Consider the space where your wedding will take place. For example, if you’re getting married in a garden, your floral arrangements might be simpler, while a grand indoor venue may benefit from more elaborate designs.

We’d recommend setting up a consultation to discuss your vision, and together we can curate a floral selection that works for your style, season, and budget! Schedule a consultation call HERE 🙂

What’s the difference between seasonal and non-seasonal flowers?

  • Seasonal flowers are those that are naturally available at certain times of the year. They tend to be more vibrant, affordable, and environmentally friendly, as they don’t need to be imported or grown in controlled environments. Examples include peonies in spring or dahlias in summer.
  • Non-seasonal flowers are typically flowers that are not naturally in bloom during your wedding season, and they may need to be imported or grown in greenhouses. These flowers can sometimes be more expensive due to the extra costs involved in sourcing them. If you’re set on a specific flower that’s out of season, we can often make it work, though it may affect your overall budget.

Seasonal flowers are often a more cost-effective and sustainable option, but non-seasonal flowers can add a unique touch if you’re looking for something specific.

Can I reuse flowers from my ceremony at the reception?

Yes, absolutely! Reusing flowers from your ceremony at the reception is a great way to extend the life of your floral arrangements and maximize your investment. Common items that can be moved include aisle markers, altar florals, and the bridesmaids’ bouquets. This is a wonderful way to bring consistency to your wedding while saving on additional décor costs. We’ll help you plan the logistics of moving flowers seamlessly from one location to another.

Do you offer flower preservation options?

Yes, we do offer flower preservation options! After your wedding, you can preserve key flowers from your arrangements, such as your bridal bouquet, boutonnières, or other special blooms. We work with reputable preservationists who can turn your flowers into lasting keepsakes such as pressed flower art, shadow boxes, or even jewelry. Flower preservation is a beautiful way to keep a piece of your wedding day forever. If you’re interested, we can discuss these options during our initial floral consultation.

How do you ensure my flowers stay fresh throughout the day?

We take great care to ensure your flowers stay fresh and beautiful throughout your wedding day. Here’s how we do it:

  • Transportation: We transport all flowers in climate-controlled conditions to maintain their freshness and prevent wilting.
  • Hydration: We make sure that flowers are well-hydrated leading up to your wedding, and we use special floral preservatives in water to keep them fresh.
  • Proper Handling: Our team handles the flowers with care, ensuring that delicate blooms are not damaged before being placed in their final arrangements.
  • Timing: We set up flowers as close to the ceremony and reception times as possible to ensure they look fresh for the most important moments of your day.

Our goal is to make sure your flowers look as stunning at the end of the night as they did when you first saw them, so we plan every detail to ensure maximum freshness and longevity.

How do I manage unexpected weather on the wedding day?

It’s always a good idea to plan for all weather conditions, especially if you’re having an outdoor wedding. Here’s how to manage unexpected weather:

  • Have a backup plan: Whether it’s a tent, indoor venue, or nearby alternative location, it’s crucial to have a backup plan in place in case of rain, extreme heat, or other weather-related issues.
  • Rent equipment: For outdoor weddings, umbrellas, fans, or heaters (depending on the season) can keep guests comfortable if the weather changes unexpectedly.
  • Consult your venue or planner: They are usually experienced in dealing with weather challenges and can help coordinate a smooth transition if needed.
  • Communicate with guests: If the weather changes, your guests will appreciate knowing ahead of time if there are any changes to the schedule or location.

While you can’t control the weather, having a well-thought-out backup plan ensures your big day can continue without a hitch, rain or shine.

How many guests can I expect to attend based on my venue size?

The guest count will largely depend on the capacity limits of your venue. Most venues will have a maximum capacity for both seated meals and standing room, which can vary based on the layout of the space. When planning your guest list:

  • Talk to your venue coordinator: They’ll provide a realistic estimate of how many guests can be comfortably accommodated based on the style of your event, seating arrangements, and the layout.
  • Consider your budget: Remember that more guests usually mean more food, drinks, and rentals. A larger venue may accommodate more guests, but it’s important to balance guest count with your budget.

A good rule of thumb is to have an initial guest list and refine it based on your venue’s capacity and budget.

What is a wedding rehearsal, and is it necessary?

A wedding rehearsal is a run-through of your ceremony, typically the day before the wedding. It allows the couple, bridal party, and anyone involved in the ceremony to walk through their roles and understand the flow of the event. While not mandatory, it’s highly recommended, especially for:

  • Coordinating timing and logistics: Ensures that everyone knows where to stand, when to walk, and how the ceremony will unfold.
  • Familiarizing your bridal party: They’ll feel more comfortable on the big day knowing what to expect.
  • Eliminating surprises: A rehearsal ensures that all ceremony elements — readings, vows, music cues — go smoothly.

If your wedding is particularly elaborate or includes special traditions, a rehearsal is definitely a good idea. If you’re having a very small or informal ceremony, you may decide to skip it, but it’s always worth considering.

Can I have a destination wedding?

Absolutely! A destination wedding can be a dream come true for couples who want a unique experience. Whether it’s a beach in Bali, a castle in Europe, or a vineyard in Napa Valley, destination weddings offer unforgettable settings. However, there are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Travel logistics: You’ll need to coordinate travel and accommodations for yourself, your partner, and your guests. Consider accessibility, travel time, and costs when choosing your destination.
  • Legal requirements: Make sure to research the legalities of getting married in your chosen location. Each country or state may have specific rules about marriage licenses and documentation.
  • Wedding planner: A wedding planner who specializes in destination weddings can be invaluable in managing travel, vendors, and timelines from afar.
  • Guests: Keep in mind that a destination wedding may mean fewer guests can attend due to travel costs. Be sure to communicate early with your guest list and offer help with travel arrangements where possible.

A destination wedding can be a magical experience, but it requires more planning than a local wedding, so be prepared for the additional logistics.

What are some ways to personalize my wedding ceremony and reception?

Personalization is what makes your wedding day truly yours. Here are some ideas to add unique touches to your ceremony and reception:

  • Custom vows: Write your own vows to express your love and commitment in a way that feels meaningful to you both.
  • Personalized décor: Incorporate family heirlooms, favorite quotes, or even small details from your love story into the décor.
  • Signature cocktails: Create a drink unique to your wedding, named after the couple or inspired by a special moment in your relationship.
  • Unique ceremony elements: Consider non-traditional rituals like a unity candle, sand ceremony, or a handfasting ceremony to symbolize your union.
  • Personalized favors: Give guests something meaningful, such as custom wedding favors that reflect your personality or relationship.
  • Custom music or live entertainment: If you have a special song or musician in mind, incorporating that into your ceremony or reception adds a personal touch.

The key to personalization is thinking about what matters most to you and your partner, and finding ways to weave those elements into your wedding day, whether it’s through your vows, your décor, or your ceremony traditions.
